Bernardete COELHO is a Marie Curie Fellow (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020) at the "Structures, fluids and interactions" Research Hub of the IRDL research institute, where she coordinates a H2020 research project on the numerical modelling of the thermo-mechanical behaviour of beta-titanium alloys at high temperatures and considering different chemical compositions in order to contribute to the sustainability of hot forming processes. She has a background in materials physical-chemistry and sustainable systems obtained from the bachelor degree in Physics and Chemistry (from Universidade do Minho, Portugal) and the master in Sustainable Energy Systems (from Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal). She earned her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aveiro in Portugal. She worked previously as a software developer at Rockfield Software in the United Kingdom and as a post-doc researcher at the University of Aveiro in Portugal. She has also acted as an independent evaluator and reviewer of projects for European institutions.
The Supervisor

Sandrine Thuillier, also coordinator of the ViFoMeTi project, is a full professor in mechanical engineering since 2009 at Université Bretagne Sud (France). Her research activities are the experimental characterisation of the mechanical behaviour of materials at room and warm temperatures, mainly sheets of aluminium alloys, steels and titanium alloys, but also elastomers and thermoplastic composites. She also focuses her efforts on material parameter identification by inverse methodology, as these parameters are an important input to the numerical models based on elasto-visco-plasticity, anisotropic yield, ductile damage and macroscopic rupture. Finally, she applies her scientific skills to metal forming processes, such as deep drawing, surface defects, bending, hemming, twisting and cutting. She is deputy head of a doctoral school and leader of a research group of 25 persons.
The Host Institution

The MSCA project ViFoMeTi is hosted by IRDL, a referent laboratory for mechanical systems in Europe related to the engineering of materials and systems used in industrial sectors related to the automobile, energy, aeronautics, health and transport industries and more specifically to all fields with a dynamic interaction with the marine environment, such as shipbuilding and offshore construction and marine energies.
